Sackler Conference Logistics

Location: The conference will be held at the Sheraton Commander Hotel, located near Harvard Square at 16 Garden Street, Cambridge, MA. This hotel is central to much of the University, is within convenient walking distance to the CfA, and is surrounded by many restaurants and shops.

Registration and fees: To register, follow the link on the sidebar to the online registration form. Registration closes at 5:00pm EST on May 01, 2018 and will be limited to 120. Fees are as follows:

The registration fee is waived for invited speakers.

Poster Session: The conference will include an open poster session. If you intend to participate, please indicate this on the registration form.

Accommodations: We have reserved a small block of rooms at the Sheraton Commander Hotel. The discounted rate is $299 per night for a single room. This rate is applicable for the nights of Sunday, May 6 through Thursday, May 10, 2018 (checkout on Friday, May 11, 2018). In order to take advantage of the discounted rate, you must make your reservation no later than 5:00pm EST on April 6, 2018, by calling 1-888-627-7121, or booking through the
Sheraton Commander Hotel, identifying the Harvard College Observatory-Sackler Gravitational Waves 2018 group block. Information on additional lodging choices can be found at Hotels.

Internet: Wireless access will be available for free in the conference room.

Banquet: The conference banquet will be held on the evening of Wednesday, May 9th in the Sheraton Commander's Mount Vernon Ballroom, beginning with a reception at 6:30pm. The banquet speaker is Rainer Weiss.

City Transportation and Parking:

Unfortunately, parking at the CfA is unavailable for conference participants, and only limited parking is available for a fee at the Sheraton Commander Hotel. There are several
parking garages located in Harvard Square. Most on-street parking in the area is prohibited without a resident permit, and metered parking is extremely difficult to find. If you drive to the conference, be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to find parking.
