Evan Bauer studies stars and how they evolve. He is especially interested in the physics of white dwarf stars, subdwarf stars, binary evolution, and interactions between stars in binaries. He also works on computational methods for stellar astrophysics as a member of the team of developers for the stellar evolution code MESA. Evan received his PhD in Physics from UC Santa Barbara, and spent a year as a postdoc at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics before beginning a position as a CfA fellow. He is now a physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
