Shmuel Bialy

Shmuel's primary research interests are the chemical and thermal structure of the turbulent-multiphase interstellar medium (ISM), with a special focus on the first galaxies to form in the high-redshift Universe.

He is also interested in constraining the nature of Dark-Matter through its interactions with the ISM, and the habitability of the Universe.

Shmuel collaborates with observers across the spectrum to test the predictions of his analytic models with multi-tracer observations of the ISM (such as HI, H2, C, C+, CO), in the Galaxy and the local Universe, as well as in high redshift sources.
