I am interested in how galaxies convert their gas into stars. In particular, I am interested in the relative roles played by the large-scale galactic environment and the small-scale physics of star formation and stellar feedback in setting the star formation cycle. To bridge these scales, I study the lifecycle of giant molecular clouds using a combination of analytic theory and high-resolution numerical simulations of galaxies. I am also interested in the development of numerical feedback models and their influence on the structure of the interstellar medium in these numerical simulations.
