Jamie Law-Smith

ITC Fellow

I am an ITC Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. I will be starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago in 2023.

I am interested in a variety of problems in theoretical astrophysics and physics, including tidal disruptions of stars by black holes, common envelope evolution in the context of GW sources, accretion onto neutron stars in a dense medium, the structure of AGN disks with embedded stars, vacuum decay, and de Sitter space in theories of quantum gravity such as string theory.
