**Igor Chilingarian: Intermediate-mass black holes: joining observations, simulations and theory**

Finding and characterizing the population of intermediate-mass black holes will allow us to answer one of the key questions in extragalactic astrophysics: "How did supermassive black holes form and grow over the cosmic time?" We will discuss the progress in observations and simulations including most recent results from my team related to observations of nearby IMBHs (Chandra, HST, XMM-Newton, Keck), new advances in simulations and future prospective for JWST observations of high-redshift low-mass AGN.
